GoodLyfe Magic, a top Ugandan music label, has revealed plans for its highly anticipated concert titled “Welcome To the GoodLife.”

The announcement comes from singer Weasel Manizo, a member of the label, who disclosed that the event is scheduled for the 9th of August at Hotel Africana in Kampala.

Organized by Nobert Events, the concert marks a significant return for Weasel Manizo, half of the former East African dynamic singing duo known as “Radio & Weasel,” after almost seven years away from the stage.

The duo’s last performance together was in 2017 as they celebrated their 10-year music journey.

However, this time, the concert holds a deeply emotional significance as Weasel Manizo will be performing without his late colleague, Mowzey Radio, who tragically passed away in 2018.

It will be a poignant moment as Weasel takes to the stage to serenade revelers in tribute to his departed partner.

The initial revelation about this historic concert occurred in January 2024 when Weasel Manizo confirmed that it would be a moment to celebrate the life and legacy of Mowzey Radio.

Fans and music enthusiasts alike are eagerly anticipating the “Welcome To the GoodLife” concert, which promises to be a heartfelt tribute and a celebration of the enduring legacy of GoodLyfe Magic’s iconic music duo.

Singer Alexander Bagonza, popularly known as A Pass, has addressed the criticism from deejay and radio presenter DJ Nimrod regarding his latest album.

A Pass acknowledged Nimrod’s right to his opinion but questioned the appropriateness of sharing it publicly.

He emphasized that Nimrod, not being involved in the music production process, may not fully understand the effort and context behind the album.

He doesn’t know how people sit while recording music,” A Pass stated.
The album in question, which A Pass released a few months ago, consists of 45 tracks.

Despite its ambitious scope, none of the songs have achieved the viral success seen with some of his previous hits. Additionally, copyright issues have prevented the album’s tracks from being available on TikTok, further impacting its reach and popularity.

DJ Nimrod had openly criticized the album, describing it as nonsensical and inferior to A Pass’s earlier works. In response, A Pass pointed out that some Ugandans overestimate the importance of their opinions. He noted that he did not seek approval or advice from anyone during the album’s production.

I recorded the music with an aim,” A Pass explained, asserting that DJ Nimrod is not part of his target audience, which may explain the negative feedback. He urged critics to recognize that their tastes might not align with the intentions behind the album.

The ongoing public exchange between television personalities MC Kats and Sheilah Gashumba has taken a new turn. On Tuesday, Sheilah Gashumba announced her departure from NBS TV, citing differences in musical perspectives with her colleagues, including MC Kats and Douglas Lwanga.

In a statement explaining her exit, Gashumba emphasized that the disparity in their understanding of music was the main reason for her decision. “MC Kats is my friend, the DJs are my friends, but we were not on the same music thinking capacity, you understand. What I know about music is different from what they know, and of course, what they know is right to them, and also what I know is right to me,” Gashumba stated.

Responding via his social media platforms, MC Kats, whose real name is Edwin Katamba, did not hold back.

He suggested that Gashumba should utilize her extensive knowledge of music to support her former sexual partners in the music industry, including Fik Fameica, Grenade Official, and Rickman Manrick.

With all the music knowledge you claim to have, why not use it to promote your ex-lovers Fik Fameica, Grenade Official, and Rickman Manrick?” MC Kats posted, adding a layer of personal critique to the professional disagreement.

The remarks from both parties have stirred significant discussion among fans and media circles, highlighting the challenges and complexities of working in the competitive entertainment industry.

As the story develops, both MC Kats and Sheilah Gashumba continue to garner attention, reflecting the broader issues of differing creative visions and the impact of personal relationships on professional collaborations.
