After seeking permission from the late Kato Lubwama’s family to organize a fundraising concert at Serena to celebrate the late Kato Lubwama on 27th August this year, Mariam Mutakubwa a.k.a Biggie Events is being accused of organizing a half baked concert and also failing to account for the collected funds.

Funds collected from the Cease Fire play were intended to go to the late’s family and also pay the actors and yet still both remain disgruntled about not receiving a penny.

They further noted that they anticipated the play not to be a one-day show as it had to make appearances in different places but based on Biggie’s plans it only ended at Serena which didn’t sit down well with the family members.

Boasting of close to 150,000 followers and more than 1.6M likes, Claud Heavy real name Claud Frank, is a Ugandan Brand Influencer, Content Creator, and Fashion Model, known for his creative TikTok challenge creations.

The 24 year old was born in Tororo, Uganda on 1st March 1999. A college graduate, Claud Heavy says he took the path of Content Creation because it seemed the best way for him to communicate with people.

“Content creation is a self-development tool. It is another way to communicate with people,” he told us. He has been able to fuse it with fashion which he says is for identity and something he has always loved.

Claud Heavy says that content creation has been fruitful, however, he is not entirely pleased with how Ugandan musicians underappreciate their efforts.

“People enjoy watching our content but they don’t appreciate it, especially the musicians. We do challenges for them but they say nothing,” Claud says.

“It has made life easy for me. I have gotten connections with important people in my life through fashion and I have been recognized by some great men including ambassadors of reputable companies,” Claud Heavy says.

Everything in life comes with its own challenges and Claud Heavy has faced a few already. “Being a Content Creator or Fashion Model you need to be on the ground and I’m not living in Uganda currently.”

He juggles all the above with Electrical Engineering and he says it has also kept him going even on the bad days.

It was a blend of East African music at the inaugural Bell ObaFest that happened at Jahazi Pier Munyonyo with epic performances from Kenya’s Nyashinski and Tanzania’s Harmonize.

With two stages running performances simultaneously, the Bell ObaFest was a beer festival par excellence and a masterclass in showcasing East African culture – specifically through the music that unites us.

At the main stage, Kenya’s Nyashinski took revellers back to the epic early 2000s era of UTAKE music with timeless hits like Swing Swing and Tuendelee from his days as a member of the iconic Kleptomaniax rap group.

He would also serenade the crowd with Marathon Runner, Free, Mungu Pekee, Bebi Bebi, Hapo Tu and more – all delivered beautifully with the support of a live band and a stage and lighting setup that made the evening come alive.

Tanzania’s Harmonize was another of the headliners whose energetic stage presence capped the evening with popular songs like Single Again. His performance followed our very own Azawi – who performed some of the songs from her latest album – Sankofa.

The main stage also featured performances from Bensoul, Joshua Baraka, Irene Ntale, Spice Diana, Mun G, Janzi Band, Double Black Band, Fik Fameica and DJs Slick Stuart and Roja, Lynda Ddane, Ssese and others.

Stage two was more geared towards celebrating our cultural heritage with performers like the Kika Troupe, Aliddeki Brian, Myko Ouma and others – all coming together to make ObaFest a truly masterful East African experience.

Ugandan Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja has come out and distanced herself from appearing in the controversial social media video.

Earlier this week, a video sparked on social media with a woman purportedly describing as Prime Minister Nabbanja, having an overwhelming celebration in a football pitch together with some men in the wee hours.

The viral video has since seen Hon. Nabbanja described by the public as uncivilized basing on her position in government.

However, taking it to her social media on Wednesday Prime Minister Nabbanja refuted reports suggesting that is her in the controversial video.

Prime Minister says the false claims root from people’s hatred and malice and appeals to the public to ignore the video.

“I am suprised that some Ugandans don’t know who I am. How can you even try to compare me to that person. I am not the one. Hatred, malice will make you die of heart attacks. Why video shop? This is diversionary. Ignore,” Prime Minister Hon. Nabbanja stated.

Former TV host Phionah Nabitengero alias Fifi Da Queen and City Mcee MC Kats continue to throw jabs at each other over the trending monetary success cards for candidates in schools.

The verbal war started when Fifi Da Queen downplayed the trendy idea of parents gifting children with overwhelming amounts of money as success cards, moreover in a showbiz manner in schools.

Through a Facebook live video, Fifi Da Queen cited stigma sparking from those unlucky students whose parents would not afford these.

She also called for the prohibition of a luxurious gifting which she believes is useless.

However, hardly had the public digested Fifi Da Queen’s advocacy, MC Kats rushed in to burry her thoughts.

MC Kats who also happens to have gifted her daughter a luxurious success card, confidently bragged having met his responsibilities as father rather than spending the gift money on buying alcohol.

He also bashed Fifi Da Queen with this a message delivery to erase her claims of parents spoiling their children with such gifts.

“At list I didn’t spend it on Bottles in the nite Life. They gat me I gat them. Never want them to look for what I can give to them elsewhere msg deliver to FiFI De Queen,” MC Kats tweeted.

On receiving the NBS TV presenter’s statement, Fifi had no kind words for MC Kats as she accused of drunkardness in public and lack of dignity and personal respect.

She also asked him to first have a personal investment on building dignity than investing in purchasing flowers.

“Mc Kats it’s bad olimwabo abalabika okutegeera nayenga tubawayiriza but anyways bwofuna obude waraji muveko mukwano and be de best example to them in the right ways eg first by respecting yo self before public kisinga ebimuli bya sente ebya showbiz and after u take yo ka money coz u badly need it fr fuel,lastly do u want me to mention a few things u need to do right for their sake byotafuna? tomerentondo omanyi kati level wooli yakalogo kalenzi but anyways engato bweba ekiutuuse yambala mukwano osibe nobuguwa enywere. However, the brawl now seems not to end after MC Kats flowing with more punches at the former Vision Group employee.

In his latest tweet, the Kats has demeaned Fifi’s capacity of living in a first world country, citing her with a third world mindset.

“Problem of Being in A First world country and still having A Third world Mindset. Dear sis Cheese Moved google that book we talk After,” he said.

Before we get to understand this group that has appeared enigmatic in the eyes of some it’s necessary not only to trace the origins but also the circumstances of the emergence of the Remnant of God.

You see, historically to date, whenever there’s been a significant desecration of holy things,God has always deemed it crucial to reserve for Himself a Remnant.

“Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah “ – Isaiah 1:9

So the emergence of the Remnant today is the consequence of the decline of Christianity in alarming levels. Contemporary Christianity has largely fallen away from the Divine realms and has settled in the human sphere. When phenomena such as visions, dreams, prophecies and miracles are viewed with skepticism, as strange or alien in church circles, it’s indicative of the lack of true believers there, rather, unbelieving believers. 

This fallen order of Christianity is largely allied to the secular world order. They share the same values i.e. they’ll be found to applaud or vilify the same values or things or people.

I’d be weary if I looked around and found that the people on the same page with me are really questionable spiritually speaking.

Characteristically, the beliefs of such fallen believers are largely because of mob mentality with little or no spiritual revelation. That’s the problem of the contemporary church.

The objective of the Remnant then is not to be on the side of what is popular, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the spiritually asleep.

The Remnant will not be overwhelmed by the mob. He or she will be lonely and sometimes pushed to the edge but will always remember that no price is too high for the privilege of being relied upon by God. The Remnant therefore stands in a collision course with the fallen church order allied with the secular world.

Both the fallen church and the world will therefore come into consensus on how the Remnant should be contained, prevented from spreading, removed or kept outside the society boundaries. Means of ostracizing will be devised against the Remnant, seeing ostracizing is a powerful measure of social influence. 

That’s where labels such as “heretic” and “cult” are quickly utilized, to segregate the Remnant for their greater good. And what they regard as good is simply enforcing their own version of Christianity. Those who show such signs of a totalitarian view of Christianity are suspect and must be opposed. 

They have sought in the past, and will always, attempt to use “rules” to achieve ends contrary to what is truly spiritual, but all too legal. Take a look at what they stand for and avoid always being on the same side with such. It takes nothing to join the crowd. It takes everything to truly stand with the Lord Jesus. And, ironically, the easiest thing to be in the world is you. The most difficult thing is to be what others want you to be. The resistance of the status quo for a Divine cause invariably constitutes you a Remnant.

“Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace”- Romans 11:5

According to Zari, it takes some levels of maturity to bring two men together, something that a few women would successfully do.

“It takes a lot of maturity to bring two men together especially after them being part of your love life. Unlike women who find it difficult,” Zari Hassan told journalists.

The self-proclaimed ‘Bosslady’ also revealed how it was Diamond Platinumz’s request to meet Shakib since he is now her husband with ample time to spend with their (Diamond and Zari) kids.

“Diamond wanted to meet the man who spends most of the time with his children and Shakib was okay with it,” Zari Hassan said.

It was a black Valentines Day for the fans and well-wishers of Zari and Diamond Platnumz in 2018 as the couple broke-up after almost 4years breeding romance.

All seemed to be going well between the couple until late 2016 when Diamond began to be linked to scandal after scandal on his infidelity in the media.

On Saturday, Bulemeezi defeated Gomba in a thrilling encounter that ended 1 – 0 at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku to be crowned the 2023 Airtel Masaza Cup champions.

The 2023 tournament featured 18 counties of Buganda Kingdom which were pooled into three groups. Busiro, Gomba, Mawokota, Ssese, Mawogola, and Kabula made up the Muganzirwazza group. Masengere group comprised; Buddu, Buweekula, Kyaggwe, Kyaddondo, Buluuli, and Kkooki while Bulange was the third group, and it had Ssingo, Bulemeezi, Buvuma, Bugerere, and Busujju counties.

During the quarter-finals, Gomba from the Muganzirwazza group won their first leg 2-1 against Buddu from Masengere group, hence qualifying for the finals, while Bulemeezi from the Bulange group moved to the next stage after a 4-2 win against Mawokota in the nail-biting post-match penalties.

Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga congratulated the winners and all the teams that participated in the 2023 Masaza Cup tournament. He said, “We continue to witness exceptional talent, and I want to thank our partners, Airtel Uganda for making this possible. Initiated in 2004, the Masaza Cup Football Tournament is a Buganda Kingdom asset aimed at grooming talent among the youth across the different Counties or Masaza’s that make up the Buganda Kingdom and the surrounding regions.

This year’s edition was run under the theme “Men in the fight against HIV/AIDs to save the girl child”, drawing attention to societal issues affecting the community. It highlighted the importance of raising awareness about the HIV/AIDs epidemic’s impact on the girl child and the role that men can play in prevention and support.
