Floyd Mayweather meets Ugandan look alike- Socialite Williams Bugeme in Dubai

Ugandan Socialite Williams Bugeme, internationally revered as Boss Mutoto seems to have ended 2021 on a high note. The business man, renowned for achieving many local and international awards both in the business and fashion realm is in the news again.

This time not for his bar Chezz Boss Mutoto. And neither for his affluent saloon in Bunga. It is simply that he seems to be living life on the proverbial fast lane.

For the past one week, the internet has been awash with Boss Mutoto’s holiday pictures in Dubai. For the fashion zealots, it was in appreciation of his sense of style. But for many, it was in awe of his travel lifestyle.

The socialite was spotted at different iconic spots in Dubai. Though not much is known of his actual tour itinerary, it seemed apparent that he was rubbing shoulders with the big boys of the world from the little pictures that surfaced.

He was pictured at the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. He was also pictured doing a desert safari. Perhaps even more exciting is the fact that he got to meet his doppelganger (or vice versa), American millionaire and world champion, Floyd Mayweather. The two shared moments of talk, with Mayweather curious what his twin could did for a living. The two then took pictures together and side hugged like old bros and went about their different businesses.

It should be noted that this isn’t the first time Williams Bugeme has travelled this year. The socialite was pictured in Turkey, holidaying in Antalya, at a time when every Ugandan was crying of brokenness.

2021 ‘Bebe Cool list’ released, Bebe Cool excludes himself for the first time

$

By BigEyeUg Team

The much-awaited ‘Bebe Cool list’ for the year 2021 has finally been dropped.

Known for his disputed controversy, Bebe Cool has for the first time excluded himself from the list.

According to Bebe Cool, the list ranks artists whose performances outsmarted others in the 2021 musical calendar amidst several challenges in the industry and country at large.

This time around, he “Gyenvudde” singer surprisingly feels longtime music rivals; Bobi Wine and Jose Chameleone have worked impressively to match the qualifications for slots on the list.

Here are the top artists in 2021 according to Bebe Cool in an irrespective order:

PALLASO

1.Nalonda Nemala

It’s been a good second consecutive year for Pallaso with Nalonda Nemala as the major hit from him this year but also followed it up with Mpa Love, Ani oyo which were fairly good songs, Good job Done.

KENZO

Eddie Kenzo flying high with Weekend and Sango ft Martha Mukisa, despite his personal challenges Kenzo Maneuvered with Weekend which I would have called the song of the year, if two people had not released what they released this year but also followed it up with Sango being the first artist to have two equally big songs in 2021.

AZAWI

Swangz Avenue 2021 shining star, the only female artist to release an album in 2021 with two hit songs my year and slow dancing.

With Slow Dancing as her biggest hit song and My year moderate, though all her songs on the album seem to be good and require public attention.

Azawi was clearly ahead of all other female artists because of her affiliation with Record Rebel that pushed her music and brand.

MUDRA

Mudra bounces back on Bebe Cool list with two hit songs ONKOSA and GWE AMANYI. I wouldn’t organize a concert and miss having this Lad perform because he represents the new energy and vocabulary of the young generation.

Two big songs are two big songs for Mudra, Congs Mudra.

ZEX BILANGILANGI

My firebase criminal bounces back on the Bebe Cool list with a bullet song MAGAZINE and for sure that’s all he needed to be on the list this year, this song is extremely big and good and the character is proving more likeable. When President opens the economy fully, I can’t wait to have him on my concerts.

LIAM VOICE

He is a new entrant breakthrough artist this year with Omwoyo, Bus, Love Olinonya which are relatively good songs. His style of music is not easily salable unless if an artist executes it perfectly well most especially in the times of Zexs and mudras were young people are more into dancing and then listening.

SPICE DIANA

The hustle continues, surely hardwork had been seen from Spice Diana this year with Ready ft Fik femaica and Body ft Nince Henry though body is an average song. Focusing alot on showbiz and wanting to collaborate might have redirected the recognition of this young lady. i believe if she had focused more on her individual songs she would have been in a better position this year. The difference in management between Spice Diana and Azawi clearly shows how much investment and experience one has in the game. If you asked me, which artist had firm ground, I would say Spice Diana but if you asked which artist is doing better Azawi. The question is, which of these positions would choose as an artist to be firm on ground or to be doing good at a certain time.

VINKA

Thank God

She definitely has to thank God that she appeared on Bebe Cool’s list this year with THANK GOD, otherwise surely coming from the same record company with Azawi, the business favored azawi for this year. Sometimes it’s not an artist doing that they not doing good but remember that also record companies have disadvantages otherwise I’m sure she is bouncing next year with an album.

SHEEBAH

More or less nothing surprising about Sheebah doing good and yes she did good with Boyfire Ft Selector Jeff as a hit song and Yolo half hit. Its good this year we have seen more women compete with Sheeba unlike the previous years were she dominated, good job Queen Karma.

ONE HIT WONDERS 2021

The culture of Bebe Cool list is not to talk about artists with one hit song but this time let appreciate them in a list.

1.Twende Tupaate – Pia Pounds

2.Onina-Baza Baza

3.Sente Nina-Kid Dee

4.Katonda yabadde Mwe Ensonga – Pastor Bugembe.

5.Oluvannyuma-Zulitums

6.Omwana Wabandi-Daddy Andre.

7.Akapeesa-Lady Jazmine

8.Mbimala-John Blaq

9.Mbeera-Levixone ft Grace Morgan

This makes it the 5th consecutive edition of the ‘Bebe Cool list’ after its inauguration in 2017.

As usual, the ‘Bebe Cool List’ released on Saturday, January 1, 2022 has also sparked debates in the country will different people sharing their opinions about it.

Toniks performs on the Tusker Malt Conversessions show.

By Our Reporter

Tusker Malt Conversessions has ushered in the New Year, 2022, with a brand-new Allan Toniks’ headlined episode.

The crooner serenades fans with some of the finest tracks in his musical catalogue in an episode that went live on Tusker Malt Lager’s Youtube channel on Sunday.

Unlike his hip-hop inclined predecessor on the show, GNL Zamba, Toniks’ edition is highlighted by ballads, guitar strings, coziness and fine music.

The show’s 2022 debut episode seeks to revisit the core basics of Tusker Malt’s premium online experience – acoustics and vocal showcase.

The production team at Swangz sets Toniks up for a cozy, green themed, dim-lit experience in the upscale environs of Riders lounge.

Clad in floral patterns and sleek sunglasses, the crooner kick-starts the show with his breakout single, Beera Nange.

Toniks drinks further from the springs of nostalgia with his first conversation revolving around Beera Nange, his collaborator on the song, Lillian Ahabwe and the musical journey that started as an experiment before exploding into the enviable career that he boasts of today.

Toniks is evidently fired up for a performance of fine RnB, strumming the guitar to four other works of his craft, Romance, Sunday, Falling, My Miss.

Toniks musical performance is interspersed by “conversessions” on controversy, confession and reflection as he let fans in on some of his demons and glories. He talks baby mamas, drugs, depression, addiction and the future of his career, hinting about unveiling his first-ever body of work this year.

Watch the episode below.

Medical practitioner, Moses Ssemusu to revolutionize blood donation through technology

Dr Moses Ssemusu, a medical practitioner with skills in clinical research wants to use technology to ensure availability of blood all year-round.By Our Reporter

Dr. Moses Ssemusu, a medical practitioner with skills in clinical research wants to use technology to ensure availability of blood all year-round. It is for that sole reason that MTN chose him as one of the 100 participants in the inaugural MTN Foundation youth skilling program.

The program created by MTN Foundation in partnership with Ubunifu Systems seeks to solve challenges in the society through innovation.

In his application for the program, the 32-year-old doctor from Kasangati attached a proposal to solve the challenge of limited blood reserves in the country. The proposal was influenced by the incessant women mortality rate at delivery as well as accident victims.

Having previously worked for a non-government organization driving advocacy, Dr Ssemusu hoped to take the front wheel in his quest to solve this challenge and hoped that the MTN program would be instrumental to his cause.

“I saw the advert for the MTN Foundation Youth Skilling program on facebook after my former roommate at University shared it on his timeline for interested parties. Then I submitted my proposal and thankfully joined the program,” he narrates.

Revolutionalising blood donation through technology

Dr Ssemusu’s proposal rallied around a plan to address the challenge of limited blood in hospitals by leveraging technology through geographical information systems to map out locations of potential blood donors and donation centers.

“My idea was to have a regular volunteer blood donor program. I thought of it because child birth was becoming a matter of life and death in Uganda given that about 16 mothers and more die from preventable causes stemming from excessive bleeding during delivery. My idea hopes to ensure there is blood all year round in blood banks across the country,” he says.

“Those that are eligible to donate blood will be doing it on their birthdays and it will be done via a digital platform. They will be able to flag off a blood bank and get pre-directed to a donation center; either physical or a mobile one to be able to donate blood. The idea rides on the grounds that every day is someone’s birthday so that will ensure quick and real-time notification for eligible donors whenever they have to donate blood,” he explains.

With the goal to realize this dream, Dr Ssemusu joined the MTN Youth Skilling program to acquire necessary skills that would drive him closer to its realization.

He is part of the twin cohort of the first edition of the MTN Youth Skilling program which graduated its first cohort mid this year.

Lessons learnt

According to the doctor, for the 12 weeks he has spent at the program, he has attained computer skills as the program covers the first phase of the training which focuses mainly on the international computer driving license (ICDL).

“I have learnt to use collaborative tools for learning. Previously, I had very limited knowledge of the full potential usage of a computer but now I have discovered so many new things and tricks of productively using a computer. I have learnt time management and have been tested on resilience. I have also greatly improved at team work and knowledge sharing with teammates,” he says.

On how the training is helping him attain his goal of an abundant pool of blood donation, he said he has been enlightened.

“My mind has been opened by this program. I have gained insight into the possibilities of achieving my dream of the volunteer blood donor program. The training has directed my focus to what issues I should be working on step by step,” he explains.

Dr Ssemusu also hopes to become a business leader and he said he will utilize the skills he has attained from the program to carry out extensive research which will be pivotal to his entrepreneurial ambitions.

“I encourage all customers to continue actively using MTN services such as MTN MoMo, Data, Voice which improves their credit score over time,” Mutana added.

To distinguish MoMoAdvance from MTN’s loan facility, MoKash, Mutana noted that unlike the MoKash loan facility where MTN customers can borrow money within their credit limits and pay back in 30 days as they wish, MoMoAdvance on the other hand is an overdraft facility that allows customers use more money than they actually have on their accounts, and the overdraft amount is automatically deducted the next time a customer gets funds on their MoMo account.

MoMoAdvance attracts a one-off access fee equivalent to 2.75% of the amount overdraft used and a daily interest of 0.5% on any outstanding balance. The daily interest shall be charged at the end of each day that the overdraft is outstanding up to a maximum of 45 days. No maintenance fee is charged if the outstanding overdraft amount is settled within the first day. No additional fee shall be charged beyond day 30.

Normal MTN Mobile Money transaction charges apply for other transactions done.
