When young fast rising rapper Fik Fameica held a concert at Freedom City in January, it was a first for him and a total sale out. He said he would organise an even bigger one later in the year and haters made fun of him, but judging from the love that he received at the recently concluded 19th edition of the Blankets and Wine festival, the rapper has arrived.
From start to end, the singer’s performance got loud cheers and revelers danced all the moves and sang along to every lyric. A hyped Fik later tweeted and said that Blankets and Wine was lit. Check out the performance below.

Musician Ronald Mayinja has denied suicidal plans after turning to God.
The singer who has political ambitions and pursuing a degree in Social Sciences at Makerere University testified before church on Sunday that he had thoughts of dying only to end up in church.

He said; ‘I prayed for death three times today. Then I went out to drink but didn’t feel any peace. I decided to go and pray but my church Namirembe was closed. So I just went to Kayanja’s church to see if I could pray there.
However, the singer has gone back on his word and clarified that he didn’t mean that he was planning to commit suicide. ‘It is a sin to commit suicide. May be I was misquoted but I was not going to commit suicide. I believe in the bible and I want to remain saved.’

Former Zimbabwe First Lady Grace Mugabe is set to know her fate this week on a case filed by a lobby group challenging her diplomatic immunity. She is accused of assaulting a South African model late last year.
According to News24, the North Gauteng High Court is to make its ruling on an application by AfriForum over the decision to grant diplomatic immunity to Grace late last year.
According to a statement by the lobby, other interested parties will join the suit that will be heard on Thursday and Friday and will be pushing to have the immunity quashed.
“Should AfriForum be successful in having this diplomatic immunity to Mugabe set aside, it will pave the way for the [National Prosecuting Authority] to take steps to ultimately prosecute Mugabe,” read the statement in part.
In 2017, Grace, 52, almost caused a diplomatic tiff between South Africa and Zimbabwe after she allegedly stormed a Johannesburg hotel where her two sons were staying and assaulted a model, Gabriella Engels.
A furious Grace is said to have allegedly accosted Engel at the Capital 20 West Hotel while flanked with her bodyguards. She accused the model of partying with her sons Robert Peter Mugabe and Chatunga Bellarmine Mugabe.
Engels later took to social media and posted photos of the assault accusing Grace of whipping her with an electrical extension cord.
She claimed that the bodyguards watched as she was battered and sustained deep cuts to her forehead and the back of her head.
After an outcry over the issue and lobby groups demanding her arrest in South Africa, Grace was said to have been granted immunity and flown to Zimbabwe.

Musician Angella Katatumba who was assaulted at Chicken tonight before her money amounting to 6.2 million shillings was stolen from her bag is flabbergasted with a court decision to release Chicken tonight workers.
The workers, Rogers Choka the manager, John Kaddu the waiter and Denis Okirot the guard that night who are accused of assaulting and stealing from Angella, have been released on a cash bail of 500,000shs each by Makindye court.

Speaking about the decision, Angella Katatumba said she was not happy and promised to fight till the end.
‘I cant believe it. I am going to start a campaign and make sure I see this case to the end,’ she said.
On the fateful night, Angella Katatumba who was from studio with a Jamaican artiste Kuzi Kz went to the restaunt in Kansanga to have a bite late in the night. They made their orders and before long, they got involved in a fight with staff leaving Angella badly beaten and her money missing.

The young man from Benin, Nigeria, who refers to himself as a Nigerian rick kid, said the woman in his photo will not be the last. He revealed he will continue trying out different women until he finds the “lucky one”.

Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke, aka Davido,has bought himself a private jet, making him the youngest Nigerian to own one. The ‘FIA’ crooner disclosed this on his Twitter handle @iam_Davido on Wednesday.
The young singer tweeted :”Bought already .. it’s not soup. it’s Hard work and Ambition!” The development is coming just few weeks after the 26- year-old singer bought his girlfriend, Chioma Avril, 23, a N45m Porsche as a surprise birthday gift. Davido is yet to give the detail of the aircfraft model and how deep he dipped into his pocket to purchase it.

Musician Chris Evans has been making headlines for the past two days.
The singer who was involved attacked and clobbered by robbers on Tuesday night was taken to hospital and treated. Evans is currently on bedrest at his mother’s home.
Speaking about death rumours about the singer that have been making rounds on social media, Evans’ mother said that she was in shock that people on social media wished her son such a bad thing.
She squashed death rumours and called for all those behind them to stop.
‘My son was beaten. But he is not dead. He is here at home on bedrest and he is taking his medicine. It is bad for people on Facebook to say that he has died,’ she said.
Evans was advised by doctors to take 4 days off work as he gets well. We will keep you posted.

Music fans across the country should brace themselves for a big music fete coming to their region soon as Swangz Avenue has announced a national All-star tour.
In partnership with Bell Jamz, a platform that has consistently supported local music, they will present a three months national music celebration as they mark 10yrs of creating great music.
The announcement was made at The Square in the presence of renowned Ugandan artists, song writers and music enthusiasts.
The feat will feature four regional music celebrations to deliver the best of Ugandan music around the country. The all-star tour will kick off in Mbale on June 15th, head to Gulu on 7th July, continue to Mbarara on 21st July, then Arua on 4th August and culminate in Kampala on August 31st.
“Over the last 10 years, we have witnessed the growth of Ugandan music and local music talent. From the big names that were here a decade ago, to the new faces who are churning out great music. The All Star Tour will bring all these in one big music celebration, on one stage, to perform the best Ugandan hits”, said Benon Mugumbya, Founder, Swangz Avenue.
The artists who will feature in The All Star Tour include Fik Fameika, Ykee Benda, Bebe Cool, Winnie Nwagi, Sheebah, Vinka, Vampos, A Pass and more.
While announcing the partnership, Bell Lager Brand Manager, Francis Kirabira said “This event will tell a story of the Ugandan musical journey by the best hit makers on the market today, Swangz Avenue. Bell Lager has a long history of Ugandan music association and has contributed to uplifting, grooming and nurturing local music talent. UBC’s Senior Sengendo has passed on.
Today, 12th May 2018, the media fraternity has lost Mr. George Sengendo who was a colleague to many,a friend, a father as well as the Manager Star TV. George passed on peacefully after a short illness.
‘Together, we pray for him and the family he has left behind. Mr. Sengendo was a pillar of UBC and a humble manager, loved by his Star TV team and all of us at UBC,’ reads a message from UBC TV.
He was described as friends and workmates as a calm, intelligent and welcoming man.
Messages eulogizing him have started coming in.

Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan says she could have been a mother of 10 children, if she were lucky to be in a stable relationship.
The entrepreneur, who will on Saturday afternoon host the Colour Purple Concert for cancer awareness at Uhuru Gardens, made the revelation on NTV’s weekly show The Trend.
The mother of five, who recently broke up with celebrated bongo musician Diamond Platnumz over infidelity claims, said she is enjoying life as a single mother.
“I could have had 10 kids if things had been better, but then again children are expensive,” Zari said during the interview.

Zari, 38, was married to Ugandan tycoon the late Ivan Ssemwanga for 10 years before they divorced. During their marriage they had three children together – all boys.
She then got into a relationship with Diamond in December 2014 and they were together until April this year when she announced that she ending their relationship. At the time of their break up she had mothered two more children with Diamond.
Following the bitter break up with Diamond has been on record saying she will never ever date famous personalities.
Zari has dedicated the Colour Purple Concert to her late mother who died of cancer after she was diagonised with the deadly disease while at an advanced stage.

1. Get the right woman – Forget the slay queens and women with looks but zero brains. Get a woman who will not only support your vision but will also push you to achieve more. A woman who will inspire you to work hard and not a woman who just makes you hard. He who finds a real woman finds a good thing and obtains favour and power to create wealth.
2. Stop Taking Cheap Drinks – I have no problem with having drinks during social interaction and networking. However, when you drink cheap drinks or drink in cheap places, you hang out with cheap people who have cheap ideas and a cheap future. Big business opportunities are found in places where the drinks are expensive. In fact, in places where they sell cheap drinks, the only people you will find there are people who will be asking you for money. They even clap when you come knowing ‘big buyer’ has come.
3. Stop being Lazy – “Man ooh Man, why art thou Lazy?” You are too lazy for your own good. You sleep the whole day and blame the government for your poverty. “A Little Sleep, a Little Slumber, poverty shall overtake you like a political cadre in overalls”. A lot of men are just lazy when it comes to making money. They have enough energy to give a woman five orgasms, but have no energy to start one organization, that’s why it is so easy for men to manufacture children than it is to make even pegs for putting children’s clothes on the line..
4. Know Productive Things – If you keep too much junk in your head, you get a junk life. 5. Get Connected to Big Men Who are better than you – A lot of men are failing because they are not mentored. They don’t have anyone to whom they can sit down and listen, with obedience. In the old days, old men would sit young men down and show them how to hunt and kill animals… and no man was considered a man enough until he has personally killed an animal… now these men of nowadays are not mentored and can’t even kill a bird. There are men out there who have made it in life, find a way to get mentored by big men who are making waves and impacting people in our community.
6. Work – Stop Spending your whole day just praying and fasting yet you know that both Quran and Bible tells you that God will bless the work of your hands. Yes yes The blessing finds you on your way doing something,Stop using Prayer as an excuse not to work. Work hard.

Fik’s song Mafia that recently earned him a collabo with South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest won him the hottest hiphop song award. He also bagged the Teenz hood rapper award before he scooped the Male artiste of the year award.

In the song the Ghetto President sings about this girl who does everything in an exceeding way. Some already say that the song could be directed at the government that has done so many bad things leaving the Ugandan public in a sorry state.
He mixes a couple of languages in the song perhaps to appeal to a larger audience across the country.
