After his latest song Tukigale success, it is said singer eddy Yawe became unruly and did not abide by the band regulations. Eddy Yawe is said to have booked his own gigs and performed them without knowledge of the band. This did not go well with the band members who cautioned the singer. However, the cautions clearly brought bad blood between Eddy Yawe and Afrigo band until the two parties fell out.

Eddy Yawe and Afrigo band are no more after the former threw in the towel. He will now be a solo artiste though maintains his relationship with Afrigo band is still a healthy one.

While masses were still questioning Brian Kirumira aka Bryan White family and relatives, he has started to show his roots and attachments one by one. On Tuesday evening, the money bag welcomed his elder sister a one Sarah who had been living in Italy for close to 25 years. It was all joy at Speke Resort Munyonyo as the two siblings cries tears of joy. Sarah also revealed she had lived with Bryan White in Italy for some time before he retreated to Uganda.

Sarah was entertained by King Micheal, Big Eye, Mad rat and Chiko among other entertainers and just like the brother splashed money to which many people were left thinking she could be another money bag if not a bigger one.

Taxify, a ride-sharing platform, has unveiled a new XL feature on the platform. The feature is an addition to help simplify travel within and around Kampala.

“The XL feature is one of the options that Taxify has created for those riding/travelling in big groups. We currently have a standard category that accommodates a maximum of four people and a boda category that can carry one. The XL category will give people the option of travelling in groups of up to 6.” said Shivachi Muleji, Regional Manager East Africa.

Drivers of the XL category vehicles have to go through the same training as drivers of the standard category. They are also required to have a driving permit and National ID. The vehicles must be manufactured from 2000 onwards and have a third party insurance sticker covering 6 people.

“We will maintain the same level of service and driver quality to ensure that our customers feel safe and enjoy their experience while using Taxify, ” added Shivachi. “The XL feature will help those who want to travel as a group or family without spending a lot of money.”

Taxify XL will launch at a 10% discount with fares at 2,500 UGX Base fare, 150 UGX per Minute, 850 UGX per KM and 6000 UGX Minimum Fare.

New flamboyant city tycoon Bryan White has denied ever fathering and abandoning kid. After allegations earlier this week by one lady in Mityana that he had abandoned her after impregnating her, the pencil thin rich boy is not about to take responsibility. While addressing press yesterday, Bryan White has strongly refuted allegations. “I have fathered children but I know and take care of all of them” he said.

According to the child’s mother, Bryan White had an affair with her until he left Mityana and came to Kampala. He had fathered a kid with her to which at first he accepted to take responsibility but later asked for a DNA test before later declining and denying responsibility. “This is clearly intended to extract money from me and that will not happen” he addressed.

Bryan White has insisted nothing will distract him from furthering his Bryan White foundation works.

The dancehall crew singer has released one of his ten video he promised to release before concert. In the new song Ngobelera, King Michael once again cries for love.

Umeme employees at work

It has now emerged that the embattled Umeme, whose concession hangs in balance following a Presidential directive not to renew their contract, does not have local shareholders following the exit of Ugandan Businessman Patrick Bitature who sold off his shares in the company.

Sources close to the Businessman have revealed that Bitature sold his shares towards the end of last year, to settle pressing bank loans that had become a thorn in his neck. Despite exiting the business, Mr. Bitature has remained the Chairman Board of Directors for Umeme whose principle shareholders now remain Foreign Investors, NSSF and the Stock market.

In a scathing letter to the Energy Minister, Eng. Irene Muloni, President Museveni recently questioned the integrity of Ministry officials who negotiated the Umeme Concession saying they did not have the interest of Uganda at heart. In the letter, the President said light of the fact that despite Umeme’s claimed investments on reduction of power losses, the tarrif has remained high. He said for now, there should be no question of renewing Umeme’s contract.

Adhering to quality as its driving factor, Kampala Cement which commenced operation less than a year ago, has edged its way to the second position as one of the leading producers of cement in Uganda with 1.2 million tons a year, almost catching up with Tororo Cement which leads with 1.5 million tons a year. Hima Cement has been relegated to 3rd position with 800,000 tons a year.

Kampala Cement is owned by renowned Ugandan Businessman Charles Mbire and Bryan Rajindah from the Rajindah Family who owns Multiple Industries.

In an exclusive interview, an official from Kampala Cement said that adhering to quality and the growing demand for quality cement has helped open doors for Kampala Cement which now supplies Roko, Sinohydro Corporation, the contractors for Karuma power project, all main roads projects and was the sole supplier for the construction of Twed Plaza.

The official also noted that Kampala Cement is out to change the landscape of the construction sector in the country by maintaining high standard for its products. “We are working with a myriad of local Engineers to build capacity. Our focus is to inculcate the much needed quality integrity as well as provide employment to Ugandans.” the official added.

Currently Kampala cement employs over 300 people, most of whom are Ugandans.

The concert is named after her song, Nsiimye, the lead single off her Anthems of Life EP. It was a dedication song to kick start her music career and one that has touched so many people’s heart because of its message.

After today’s ruling by Makindye grade two court, money bag White Bryan is a free man. This comes after he wrote to court asking he and the plaintiff solve matters in amicable terms to which they agreed. Bryan White was charged for attempted unlawfully to cause the death of Bitwire after shooting the latter in what Bryan White said was self-defense, he mistook Victor for a thief at his gate.

Bryan White through his Counsels John Balungu and Rama Omungu on Monday morning 9th April 2018 informed the Makindye court’s Magistrate Erias Kakooza that negotiations between their client and the plaintiff’s side are going on smoothly outside court and have written to the Director of Public prosecutions, Mike Chibita so as Bryan White regains his freedom as his charges are dropped.

Today court has allowed Victor Bitwire and Brian Kirumira aka Bryan White to hold negotiations outside court and set Bryan White free.

As part of its five-year partnership with Buganda kingdom, Airtel Uganda has handed over a contribution of UGX 50,000,000/- towards the birthday celebrations of the Kabaka of Buganda, Ssabasajja Ronald Muwenda Mutebi.

The partnership with Buganda Kingdom supports four of its main annual activities including the Kabaka’s birthday celebrations, Kabaka Birthday Run, Kabaka coronation and Eid-El- Fitri. Ssaabasajja Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II will celebrate his 63rd birthday on Friday, April 13th 2018 at Villa Maria Catholic Parish in Buddu county. This year’s birthday celebration will also mark the Kabaka’s 25th coronation anniversary.

Addressing the media during the ceremony, Airtel Uganda’s Head of Branding and Communications, Remmie Kisakye Kakuru commented on the company’s proud association with the Kingdom. “Our relationship with Buganda Kingdom has strengthened over the years. And the reason for this is because we believe in what the Kingdom is trying to achieve- both for the people of Buganda and the rest of the country,” Kisakye said.

She pointed to the cause behind the concluded Kabaka birthday run as an example of what she called “…strategic alliances…”. Concluding her remarks, she said; “Proceeds from this year’s run will go towards creating awareness

Dancehall singer Ziza Bafana has moved to revive his music career.

This after the singer, who has been silent on the music scene for sometime now, landed a new management deal. We have learnt that the singer has been signed to Delacosta Kingdom, a local production house and record label.

Speaking to sources close to the record label, they revealed that they have a solid plan to have Bafana topping the local music charts once again.

As if to prove this, Bafana has already released his first music project under his new management dubbed “Nazaala”. We have further learnt that Bafana is already working on its video and it is expected out very soon.

Paris based Ugandan Celebrity stylist Ryan Chris and his  brother Joel have added music to their careers, the  identical twins earlier this week revealed to us how they are ready and willing to take on the Ugandan music industry

The two will be singing under the stage name “The Baninas” derived from their sir name Banina. According to the artists, they have been in studio the whole of this year recording and working on a couple of songs, with top producers that they didn’t disclose to us

Talking to us about their decision of joining the competitive industry, the twins told us how they are ready to cope with the ever growing Ugandan music industry

“We have had passion for music since our childhood, we always knew we would sing but we just had to wait for the right time, we believe we are ready enough to venture in to this competitive industry and we have all what it takes to cope” they told us

According to the singers’ manger, they will be dropping their debut single before the end of this month

MTV Shuga Season Six has premiered in Uganda. The new season of the TV drama series premiered at an exclusive silent screening event held at Sky Lounge on Thursday evening.

Speaking at the premiere, Humphrey Nabimanya, the Team Leader & Founder of Reach A Hand Uganda, underscored the importance of the drama series in spreading the message of sexual health among the youth.

“Reach A Hand Uganda is committed to empowering young people in Uganda, and through MTV Shuga, we believe it addresses key social issues affecting young people not only in Uganda, but Africa and this is through realistic storylines and characters that resonate with them. The series seeks to impart knowledge and empower the youth to take positive action towards their health and lives.” Said Humphrey Nabimanya.

He further revealed that Ugandan and Nigerian actors are collaborating to make a Ugandan version of the TV drama series aimed at telling a story that resonates with the local youth, with the first episode expected to premiere before the end of the year.

The premiere was graced by Nigerian actor Emmanuel Ikubese alongside a host of other local celebrities. It culminated with a performance from musicians Toniks and Geosteady.
