Forest Cottages has set out to offer the best affordable Christmas to its customers this season.

Dhaval Macchar, the General Manager of Forest Cottages, reveals that the offer for couples has been reduced from the usual $138 to enable couples enjoy this Christmas season. Macchar said the accommodation offers end 15th January 2017.

For that matter Forest Cottages customers are welcome and can stay for as long as they want. Macchar says the hotel has different accommodation facilities and pricing. Forest Cottages is brilliantly designed luxury cottages situated on Naguru Hill in the Bukoto area of Kampala and 5 minutes drive from the Kampala city centre.

The standard double room costs $72, one bedroom cottage, which can be occupied by a couple costs $90, two bedroom cottage (with two bedrooms each with different double bed) costs $120, the three bedroom cottage, which is good for a family or five people costs $165 per one night.

On the eve of Christmas and Christmas day customers will only pay Ushs45, 000 for the three course Christmas meal. The meal will consist of a selection of starters, different selection of the main meal, and a wide selection disserts. The meal’s menu will be continental however local food can be prepared on group order of more than 20 people.

“We are not only looking at corporate customers, we are also looking at family clients, domestic travelers, domestic tourists, Ugandans going for holiday and those traveling for leisure. We are mainly focusing on local travelers this festive season, we want them to enjoy the festive season affordably.” Macchar noted.

Watoto Church’s annual Christmas Cantata is back! This time the story lets us know that there is ‘No More Night’. The production is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, supported by an incredible array of spectacular music, dance, drama, costumes and multi-media.

“We live in a world that is dark, riddled with pain, brokenness and desperation. But this Christmas, we want to remind you that there is hope. Jesus, the Light of the World has come to bring us hope,” says Gary Skinner, Team Leader: Watoto Church.

Set in the traditional daytime, this year’s Cantata is going to demonstrate that there is hope and that Jesus is the light of the world.

“Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.”(Isaiah 9:1-2)

This year, the production is expected to attract over 20,000 people watching 16 shows in total. All the shows will take place at Watoto Church Downtown on Kampala road and are free of charge.

Lionel Messi and longtime partner Antonella Roccuzzo are to be married next year, according to multiple reports in Argentina.

First reported by Radio Metro’s Pablo Varsky and confirmed by EFE and others, Messi, 29, and Roccuzzo, 28, will have a ceremony sometime in the middle of 2017 depending on Barcelona’s summer tour.

“Messi and Roccuzzo will get married in 2017. The date will depend on Barcelona’s schedule of games and the fortunes of the Catalan side in the Champions League,” EFE reported.

The couple met in their native Rosario in 1996 and have two children together, four-year-old Tiago and one-year-old Mateo.

Varsky reported the wedding would be in Argentina.

“I learned by chance, next year there will be a big celebration. I don’t have a clear date but it’s in Rosario,” he said.

Local rapper and legal counsel Santana Karma is involved in a dispute with another rapper known as Byeby over his latest song. According to Byeby, the two did the Kadaga song together but Santana is claiming all the credit for it.

We have been told that Santana does lots of interviews on different media about the song, performs in clubs but never makes mention of Byeby yet they hustled together to make the song a big hit. The rapper has been asked to start giving Byeby credit or face the reparations.

Khalifah Aganaga’s manager, Emma Carlos is a man who has supported Laftaz Comedy lounge since its inception. But this was nothing to hold bouncers back from humiliating him when he failed to clear a bill at the Centenary Park based bar.

Carlos who had been drinking with friends was issued with a bill of 490,000shs at the end of the night. He cleared 400,000shs and attempted to go. At this point, the waiter run after him asking for him to clear the remaining amount prompting the bouncer at the entrance of the premises to stop him.

One of his friends who was talking too much ended up being beaten in the scuffle as Carlos stained his white shirt. It is at this point that he vowed never to go back to the bar along with his artiste Khalifah Aganaga.

Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates and Lufthansa German Airlines, part of Europe’s largest airline group, have announced the conclusion of a codeshare agreement. The arrangement is set to start in January 2017, subject to government approval.

The wet-lease agreement between Lufthansa Group and airberlin – in which Etihad Aviation Group indirectly holds a 29 per cent stake – was also announced today. Lufthansa’s point-to-point carrier Eurowings and Austrian Airlines, a Lufthansa Group airline, have signed an agreement to wet lease 38 aircraft from airberlin. 33 of these aircraft are to be operated for the Eurowings Group, an additional five aircraft are to be flown for Austrian Airlines. The agreement has a term of six years and becomes effective from February 2017 subject to any regulatory requirements. The leases have been agreed at competitive rates.

Under the codeshare agreement, the German airline will place its ‘LH’ code on Etihad Airways’ twice daily non-stop flights between its home base of Abu Dhabi and Frankfurt and its twice daily non-stop services between Abu Dhabi and Munich, the biggest city in southern Germany.

The UAE’s national airline will, in turn, put its ‘EY’ code on Lufthansa’s long-haul, non-stop intercontinental services between its home base of Frankfurt, the business and commercial capital of Germany, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as well as Bogota, Colombia.

James Hogan, President and Chief Executive Officer, Etihad Aviation Group, said: “We have long seen Germany as a key strategic market for Etihad Aviation Group and this new relationship with Lufthansa marks the next step in our commitment to the leading European aviation group.

“Lufthansa is highly respected globally and I’m very pleased that we will work together in the future for the benefit of our customers.

Nigerian singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known by his stage name Wizkid, could face arrest for not performing in Kampala on December 3^rd as had been advertised.

The singer who had other commitments in USA at the time of the show issued an apology and promised to make it up to his Kampala fans in the New Year.

But this didn’t go down well with the organizers as expected and a warrant of arrest is being processed for Wizkid.

According to a letter from the organizers lawyers to Interpol requesting for him to be arrested, 300,000 dollars was injected in the venture only for him not to show up.

Back in 2012 when Nigeria’s Mr Flava came to Uganda, Bad Black did all she could to make sure that he got the best memories about Uganda. Some say she could have done a lot of things to him that he will never forget the goodness of this country.

Fast forward, its 2016 and Black is back at it. This time with Tanzanian singer, Ali Kiba who is in town for the Blankets and Wine event. Ali who is set to perform this Sunday, 18th December at Lugogo Cricket Oval, alongside The Mith, Jemimah Sanyu, Giovanni Kiyingi and DJ Naselow was seen in the company of Black. Later she told us that she is going to show him how good Kampala can be.

“You must be proud of me people. I entertain every foreigner who comes in our country. My night with Ali Kiba was quite, peaceful and full of sweet memorize,” she said.

From the time she left her man, Professor Big Eye, socialite and forever upcoming singer Nalongo Sheila Don Zella has never settled down.

On Thursday night, Sheila was spotted flirting with one of the Sauti Sol band members, doing her best to get seen that she is in love with him. She seduced the man all night but got nothing more than a kiss according to our source.

The mother of three later went on social media and told the world how the guy is a good kisser and that he almost flooded her with sweet kisses. “Hoooo ono omwana wa sauti soul yabadde enzise hoooo the guy kisses hoooo,” she said.
