John Akibua, Uganda’s first Gold Olympiad had held the spot as the greatest Ugandan Athlete for over 40 years. Today, Joshua Cheptegei has gone on to claim the space by breaking Bekele’s record in the 10,000m do.
Cheptegei is thus officially Uganda’s greatest sports personality.
