Uganda Marketer’s Society(UMS) organized a colorful Kid’s Christmas Party which was filled with lots of fun, love, laughter, gift giving from the general public, sponsors and Santa Clause (Father Christmas) visited the children at Kiwatule Recreation Centre. At this Party the Children with Disabilities proved that disability is not inability indeed by showcasing their talents like rapping, singing, hand art crafts, tailoring, dancing and sports, Some people who attended were surprised by the talents of these children, the Mc excited the revellers how he could tell what was on stage yet he was blind.
Fenna tujjune Beneficiaries include, visually impaired, autistic, children with hearing impairment, physically handicapped cancer children, a total of 101 children attended in person, this Christmas ushered us into International day for people with disabilities.
Before the number of beneficiaries grew to hundred, we used to contact generous families to dine with 1 or 2 beneficiaries on Xmas, this was to help them get the festive joy and experience as family, we are grateful that these families gladly shared the seasons with us. Currently due to the overwhelming number of beneficiaries we wrote to Uganda Marketer’s Society (UMS), to help us organize a Xmas party for all of us in one place.
Fenna Tujjune is a non-profit organization that started in 2014 by a group of orphans with an intention of giving morale support, motivate and inspire children growing without parents until 2016 when one of these Orphans/group member lost his leg due to a car accident, they then saw their fellow member lose his job after losing his leg, he lost his driving license to an ignorant traffic officer and this opened the group’s eyes to what was happening to PWDs in Uganda which gave them a better focus of protecting children without parents or guardians.
The initiative takes care of abandoned children with disabilities.
Fenna Tujjune started by helping 4 cancer victims who were abandoned by their parents at a cancer home after which, it was recommended to a school for blind children to help the growing number of abandoned children at the school, This school too recommended the initiative to an autistic school which was going through troubles with an increasing number of children abandoned at the school and that’s how the foundation has been forced to grow bigger with now 103 beneficiaries including the deaf, physically hand capped, cancer victims, autistic children and the blind.
We believes that it is the responsibility of all Ugandans to participate in breaking the Stigma for children who are visually impaired, deaf, living with physical disabilities and Autism (artistic children) in our communities.
Fenna Tujjune Initiative is here to advocate for Social inclusion to help break the Stigma these Children with Disabilities live through so that they can have a proper Childhood and Education.
