The technology advancement in Uganda is really going in the right direction. And if the information we are getting is anything to go by, the face of mobile smartphones in the country is going to change.
Pixan Corporation Limited, a Ugandan ICT firm, has announced it is in advanced stages of launching a truly Ugandan mobile handset made for Ugandans. Edgar Davids Oyufuru, the CEO of Pixan Corporation, says they are designing and making phones and different accessories here in Uganda.
“Right now we are planning to launch our own mobile under the Pixan Brand. The phone was designed after research and addresses basics needs of the African market,” Oyufuru revealed.
“We have have so far done testing in China and Geneva. We will be testing in all the continents. We want our phones to be accepted all over the world. We believe that if we meet the standards of Europe, Americas and China, we meet the standards of Uganda.” He added.
The Ugandans are working with other companies in China, South Korea, Vietnam and Malaysia to produce the locally designed and assembled gadget.
Pixan Corporation was founded in 2014 under the name Pixanlabs Visual Engineering (VE) multimedia and industrial design company, but later rebranded to Pixan Corporation (U) Limited in July 2015. It was incorporated Pixan Corporation Ltd in February 13th, 2017 in the Republic Of Uganda, East Africa.
