Renowned comedian Maulana’s baby mama, Nalugya Shubira Betty, is basking in a moment of delight as she receives funds to support her children for the entire year.

This joyous occasion comes in the wake of a court ruling that mandates Maulana to pay an annual child support of Ugx. 10 million (equivalent to 830k per month) to Nalugya Betty.
The court’s decision follows Maulana’s recent arrest and subsequent imprisonment in Luzira Prison on charges of neglecting his three children, whom he shares with Nalugya Betty.
Maulana, who forms one half of the popular Ugandan comic music duo “Maulana & Reign,” was granted bail earlier this week. He has been ordered to comply with the court’s instructions regarding child support.
Expressing her happiness during a media interview, Nalugya Shubira Betty exclaimed, “Life has now changed; I am so happy. I can now afford to pay my children’s school fees for an entire year. They will study like bosses, which is amazing. I can also cover my house rent for the entire year, and everyone will be shocked by where I got the money.”
This isn’t the first time Ms. Nalugya Betty has made headlines regarding her relationship with comedian Maulana.
In April 2024, she accused him of domestic violence and child neglect, further highlighting the complexities of their past interactions.
