Nigerian musician, Mr. Eazi arrived in the country on Wednesday, leaving many wondering why he was in the country when the entertainment industry is still under lockdown.
We have now learned that the “Leg Over” hitmaker was in the country as part of an activation for BetPawa’s new campaign dubbed “DreamMaker”, in which individuals are being asked to submit their “dreams”, from which a few will be selected to bring to life.
Eazi is touring the different countries where the betting company has a presence to officially activate the campaign.
He started the tour in Kenya earlier this week where he was officially unveiled as the global brand ambassador for Betpawa, before coming to Uganda on Wednesday.
“Great news, today in Nairobi, I got unveiled as the Global Brand Ambassador for Betpawa with the Launch of DreamMaker Campaign.” He posted online on Tuesday.
While in Uganda, Eazi also handed out a brand new Toyota Rav 4 to Baryayanga Francis, a 38-year-old primary school teacher from Bushenyi district.
Baryayanga scored the highest points in a football challenge held during the activation ceremony at Kabira Country Club to emerge the ultimate winner. He was initially one of the eight selected winners from across the country.
“Our 8 winners placed a bet in August during the English Premier League matches on BetPawa- they entered our prize draw by Sunday 29th August and were drawn to take part on Monday 30th August,” Livingstone Mugambe, the Marketing Coordinator Uganda elaborated.
Other winners included Byanyima Joseph (from Mitooma), Amoli Mario (Adjumani), Lukiiko Mike (Arua), Odora George (Kwania), Lematia Geoffrey (Arua), Mwebaza Kenneth (Luweero), and Okot Jalon (Tororo).
They each received cash prizes worth UGX750,000 (for 4th-8th place winners), UGX1.5m for third place, and UGX3m for 2nd place.
Mr Eazi is heading to Tanzania next on Thursday. He is expected to visit Angola and Zambia as well in the coming days.
