The long-standing tension between singers Rickman Manrick and Grenade Official reached its climax in an unexpected setting – a boxing ring.
The two artists squared off in a heated match, with Rickman emerging victorious, much to the delight of his supporters.
After the match, Rickman expressed satisfaction with his performance, emphasizing that his victory was a statement against disrespect. “I put in the work, and I’ve proven I can’t be disrespected,” he said.
The feud between the two musicians reportedly began when Rickman started dating media personality Sheilah Gashumba.
Grenade had previously claimed Sheilah as his ex-girlfriend, and jealousy seemed to fuel his animosity toward Rickman.
The tension escalated when Grenade allegedly punched Rickman during an altercation at La Terrazza, further deepening their rivalry.
While Grenade later apologized for his actions, Rickman made it clear that forgiveness wasn’t on his agenda. Instead, he vowed to settle the matter in a “professional way.” True to his word, the boxing ring became the arena for their resolution.
The Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), Salim Saleh, has confirmed a payment of Shs 11,100,000 (approximately $3,000) to musician Omulangira Suuna (OS), for producing a song to promote OWC initiatives.
In a letter addressed to the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) and the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA), Gen. Saleh clarified that the payment was for an advert, not a full song.
He encouraged stakeholders to compare his own song promoting OWC initiatives with the one created by Omulangira Suuna, signaling dissatisfaction with the latter’s effort.
Gen. Saleh revealed his frustration with the project, citing discrepancies between his expectations and the final output. “The issue that angered me is that I had given him the script,” he said, hinting at concerns over Suuna’s execution of the assignment.
He also referenced previous music projects produced for OWC in 2017, suggesting that earlier efforts were more aligned with his vision.
During a recent public event in Gulu, Gen. Saleh openly rejected Omulangira Suuna’s song, which was meant to promote wealth creation initiatives. He expressed frustration over delays and inefficiencies among musicians tasked with contributing to OWC campaigns.
“Musicians, I am tired of you. That one I have to repeat on camera. You have taken a lot of time. I have not even had time to meet the NRM people, can you imagine? Because when it is morning, I am meeting Bucha Man; in the afternoon, I am meeting Ragga Dee; in the evening, I am meeting Odongo,” he lamented.
Cindy Sanyu sparked conversations with her latest song, Monica, a collaboration with Jackie Chandiru that got many netizens alleging she was attacking Sheebah.
The track, which delves into the struggles married women face with husband snatchers, has left fans questioning whether it was inspired by personal experiences or directed at Cindy’s long-time rival, Sheebah Karungi.
The speculation intensified due to the song’s release coinciding with rumors linking Sheebah to a married man. However, Cindy has firmly denied any connection between the song and Sheebah.
Speaking during an interview, Cindy clarified that Monica is not aimed at anyone specific, emphasizing that she has no “Monica” in her life at the moment.
Instead, Cindy explained that the song was crafted to resonate with many married women who deal with such challenges. “This is a real issue that affects many women, and I wanted to create a song they could relate to,” she said.
Regarding the timing of the release, Cindy dismissed claims of targeting Sheebah, stating that the song’s debut was purely coincidental. “It was simply time for a new song,” she added.
Cindy also took the opportunity to extend her congratulations to Sheebah, who recently embraced motherhood.
“Motherhood is a beautiful journey, and I encourage fans to let Sheebah enjoy this new chapter without unnecessary speculation,” she remarked.
For Cindy, Monica serves as a general message addressing common struggles in marriage rather than a personal jab. She hopes the song will empower and provide a voice for women navigating the realities of marital life.

Every musician, new or old on the block has a reason as to why they joined the music industry. For some, it was just a wave and the tides swept them towards that direction so they ended up following the already famous musicians, labeling them as their inspirations.
Tom Dee
For others, it was a childhood dream, one they had always worked hard to achieve so when a chance arose, they decided to take it on while for a few musicians, their level of musical talent is the sole reason that led them to join the Ugandan music industry.
For Tom Dee however, the major reason as to why he joined music was money. Having been a content creator on Tiktok for a while, Tom Dee met the realization that content creation, specifically on Tiktok took a whole lot of time and effort in order to make earnings and the earnings also turned out to be very low .
With his content creation prowess however, he decided to get himself into music, hoping for a brighter future and higher earnings. While speaking on Television, Tom Dee mentioned that just like everyone else, the major inspiration for anything is money and in his dire need for it, he decided to join the music industry.
“It was money. Just like everyone else, my biggest inspiration was money. I was well known for content creation, majorly on Tiktok but I soon realized it was so time consuming yet the earnings were low. I therefore decided to venture into music for higher earnings. It was all for the love of money.” Tom Dee stated.
According to Tom Dee however, his biggest music audience was built by his content creation and therefore it is content creation that helped in boosting his music career.
“The first time I went to studio, I followed musician called BB Zander. When I heard the way he recorded, I felt like I could handle it too, being a content creator. I then decided to make use of my huge following. If they had liked my content enough to follow me, they could definitely be my first fan base.” Tom Dee said.
